Title Lightning Fast Speed Bag Overview
Saying a speed bag is “fast” is meaningless – unless you compare it to some other speed bags – so that’s what we’ll do here.
The Lightning Fast Speed Bag is a 5″ x 7″ bag. That means when fully inflated, it is 5″ wide and 7″ long – not counting the loop used to hang the speed bag.
The Lightning Fast Speed Bag has a pleasing “teardrop” shape and it is a symmetrical bag – it is not lopsided like some bags are.
It’s also lightweight – this bag weighs about 4.9 ounces.
It’s easier to punch a small, light speed bag quickly – so all these things are part of the key ingredients.
Here’s an exceptional feature of this bag – it has extra leather around the belly (the fattest part) and on the bottom.
This causes a bias in the center of gravity and does seem to make this bag a pleasure to punch.
As you saw in the video review – you can punch this bag hard and fast – I would say the Lightning Fast speed bag is just that – it’s a nice, fast bag.
But a small, light bag is a challenge to punch. I wouldn’t recommend this for beginners. Use a larger bag size like 6″ x 9″ if you are just starting out.
Title Super Speed Bag Classic V2
Here’s our runner-up in this speed contest.
The Classic Super Speed Bag v2 is even more lightweight than the Lightning Fast – it’s only 4.6 ounces.
At the same time it is also larger – it is 5″ wide and 8″ long. But, this bag has a very, very short loop at the top.
Given these factors this is ALSO a very fast and light bag – maybe just as fast as the Lightning bag.
What’s even better – because it’s made from light synthetic leather – it’s really affordable – and much cheaper.
We’ll have to see if it stands up over time – bags made from lighter materials do typically tend to wear out more quickly.
This bag is also recommended.
Title Gyro Balanced Speed Bag
The Title Gyro Balanced Speed Bag in 4″ x 7″ (XXS) size is also a competitor.
It’s a bit heavier at 5.2 ounces, and feels heavier on the hands.
This is an OK bag, but it’s more effort to make this one go fast.
Title Super Speed Bag
Lastly we have the Title Super Speed Bag in 4″ x 7″ size.
This is what I’d call a “banana bag” because it’s long and skinny.
It is also the heaviest bag here at 5.5 ounces.
As such, it doesn’t feel light and fast.
This bag will work, but it’s definitely not my preference.
Title Lightning Fast Speed Bag – How Did We Test?
We tested this speed bag on two different platforms, with two different swivels.
The Balazs i-Box Speed Bag Platform is what I recommend for every home or garage gym.
For a quality u-bolt style swivel – try the Title Lightning Fast Super Swivel.
I also punched using an Arc swivel – which is an excellent ball hook swivel.
Title Lightning Fast Speed Bag Review – In Summary
It’s not just fast – it’s an excellent speed bag.
The short length ensures tremendous speed (maybe more than you can handle!), and this speed bag is a pleasure to punch.
If you like small, fast bags, be sure to check out the Classic Super Speed Bag V2 as well – it’s just as fast – and cheaper!
