SPEED BAG ANNUAL GATHERING 2023

The Speed Bag Annual Gathering 2023 will be held July 7,8, and 9th, 2023 at Real Gymm in Keyport NJ.

The world’s only gathering of speed bag punching enthusiasts is going to be bigger and better than ever for 2023.

When

The main event is Friday, July 7th and Saturday, July 8th, 2023.

There will be informal activities on Thursday, July 6th and Sunday, July 9th – but all formal activities will be concluded by 1 pm on Sunday.

Real Gymm is the perfect place for this event. There are several small shops and restaurants within easy walking distance – Burgers, Pizzas, Sushi – and much more is a simple 5 minute walk. There’s ample parking in a public lot next to the gym too.

Who

This event is open to the public – and it’s family-friendly so bring your spouse and kids. All experience levels are welcome – we love beginners!

Agenda

This event is a “Speed Bag Party” – if you can imagine such a thing. It’s a whole lot of speed bag platforms – and lots of people that love to punch the speed bag. That’s really the main attraction of the vent.

The following activities are scheduled (SUBJECT TO CHANGE):

Friday, July 7th, 2023

Stop by the gym anytime – we’ll be up on the 3rd floor.

There are no FORMAL events scheduled for Friday – but consider that there will be bags hanging and ready to punch!

Friday is also a great time to get some time to chat with people and learn some new tricks on the bag – when the gym is less crowded.
It’s likely you can grab some lunch and/or dinner with many of your new found bagging friends at local restaurants like McDonaghs’ Pub (they have ample outdoor seating for large groups!)
Get some practice time in on the SPEED DEMO punch counter unit – before the CONTEST on Saturday

Typically, we are punching until late in the night – 10 – 11pm – and possibly later.

Saturday, July 8th, 2023

9am – The gym is open much earlier – so stop in and PUNCH!
12pm – 1pm – PIZZA Party in the gym – have a slice and enjoy a cold beverage (non-alcoholic)
1pm – RAFFLE TICKET SALES OPEN – we’ll be raffling off several bags, swivels, shirts, and more – to benefit WOUNDED WARRIOR. MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN (Drawing is at 5:30)
2pm – GROUP PHOTO time – we’ll all form up for a GROUP PHOTO
4pm – WOUNDED WARRIOR – Guest Speaker – we’ll have an in-person representative from the WOUNDED WARRIOR foundation to say a few words about this great charity>
5:30 pm – SPEED DEMON contest – Whomever can punch THE MOST REBOUNDS IN ONE MINUTE wins a prize!
6pm – RAFFLE TICKET DRAWING – We’ll draw winners. MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN.
7pm – Group Dinner at McDonagh’s Pub
9pm – ???? – Late night speed bag jam – come punch to some cool tunes – or just hang out and bang away on the bag.

Sunday, July 9th, 2023

Grab a coffee and hang out under the platform. We usually start breaking down equipment by 12 noon – but there’s lots of opportunity to punch the bag before that.

Typically a group will go for an informal breakfast get-together around 10 a.m.

All activities and clean up will be concluded no later than 2pm.

Admission

We will be charging an Admission fee for the event. This is necessary to defray the costs associated with using the gym and having chairs, tables, etc.

The Admission Fee is $30 per Individual or Family.

If your family members are in attendance you only have to pay ONE FEE.

Your $30 admission fee includes:

Unlimited access to the speed bag platforms Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (first come, first serve, of course)
Two 3″ x 3″ stickers with the official event logo.
A commemorative, limited-issue “dog tag” with the event name and year.
Three raffle tickets for the Saturday 5:30 PM drawing (Must be present to win)

Shirts including the official 2023 Gathering logo can be pre-ordered. A LIMITED number of the shirts will be available for sale onsite.
